Cultural appropriation, by definition, means to adopt elements of a culture other than your own without the consent of the people who belong to that culture. Because vaginal steaming has been historically practiced by people all over the world, no singular country can claim the practice as exclusively or originally their own. The entirety of the inhabited world has ancestral roots connected to vaginal steaming an everyone has a right to do it. Despite this, there are people that are not in touch with their own ancestral roots of vaginal steaming and are practicing it in a culturally appropriative way by citing one culture as its origin of practice without the consent of practice by that culture.
