Level 2 certification (also known as the Peristeam Facilitator certification) is great for steamcare providers who – more than just offering a steamcare session – want to be able to understand and educate clients about steaming on a comprehensive level. Instead of just selecting pre-made herb formulas, practitioners learn how to make their own formulas. Instead of just offering a steam session, practitioners will learn about steam science, history and culture; historical and contemporary uses; as well as research on how and why steaming is beneficial. Further, practitioners will meet guest interviewee OB/GYN doctors who support steaming, read medical studies on steaming and learn to debunk misinformation on the practice.Â

I've had an interest in becoming a steaming faciliator for a while now. Thank you Keli for giving such a detailed course!
Excellent class! There is still a lot to be done around racism and healthcare - thank you Keli for showing how we can work at it from many different angles 🙂
I loved this class. Keli's combined knowledge of international development and systems of oppression lays the foundation for why it is so important for us to raise up Folk Practitioners and how to do that in a way that is appreciating a culture as opposed to appropriating from it. Thank you to Keli for offering a roadmap for our integrity as steam practitioners <3
This was a very well organized course! I'm so glad that I started this journey of learning. I'm so excited I'm learning so much about steaming and to spread the word to offer steaming professionally in the Lou. It’s still not really popping big here in St. Louis sadly but not for long:~) Thanks Keli for the great work!! – Yasmin –
This is a great breakdown of the function of steam. Totally worth taking this course to get a more complete understanding of why steam works for our bodies, minds, and spirits 🙂
This course is very informative & constant check ins at the end of each lesson to check your understanding. I have taken a previous course from another organization & while that information was a deceit foundation, this course definitely has furthered my understanding in providing a basic steam to a client. I glad I took the other course first & this one second even though I have procrastinated for years to enroll in this course. But again. I'm glad my path brought me at this time. Very good info, I'd encourage future students to be ready to take notes during each session, it helps to retain the info.
This is a true resource for all women, no matter which business they are in
So much work was put into this course to provide us with easy and very complete reference sheets and tables to easily work with clients! So grateful for all the resources!
This course is so full of knowledge and direction. I have taken a course from another provider previously, and did not get even close to the information I am getting here. My confidence is building!
I absolutely enjoyed this course! I learned things about the womb and the period that I never knew and I’m 42! I’m excited and eager to learn more!
A truly fantastic course, I learned an incredible amount and feel totally enriched!
Great course on how to help post menopausal women with steaming !
So informative and I am so grateful for these teachings. Thank you Keli.
Absolutely loved this course.. easy to digest in bits but so wonderfully thorough. I really appreciated that she included the module covering period care as the foundation even before steaming happens. And the business module felt super helpful. There wasn’t a section I didn’t enjoy or find valuable! I feel prepared to begin steaming clients and am sooo excited to continue my education with Keli!
I really enjoined this course and learned so much! Thank you Keli, for sharing all your knowledge, quick responses to questions and for the way you share. The information in the videos was really good and easy to listen to. Very important to learn all about contra-indications and sensitivities, to be able to steam safely and in the most healing way. I absorbed everything and really recommand this course.
Finding this course and Keli was an absolute blessing and prayers answered. In 15 years of herbal medicine practice, I have never seen another steam care training that even comes close to a fraction of what Keli has put together here. I feel so honored to have been given the opportunity to learn from Steamy Chick Institute and I am looking forward to the Peristeam Hydrotherapist course as well. Classes are divided up into short and digestible videos making it easy to take notes and replay anything you need to hear more than once. Womb care is one of the most important parts of herbal and holistic medicine and it is severely under utilized due to a systemic erasure of sacred women's wisdom from our modern cultures. Keli has been working hard to connect the dots of this global practice while always honoring indigenous people's wisdom. She has distilled down the essential information into a training that will equip beginners and seasoned steamers alike.
Steamy Chick Institute is thorough and really sets you up for success. There are so many places you can ask questions and a great community to network and connect with. I am so grateful for the amount of thought and time put into this to make this so professional and valuable!! I highly reccomend this course!
Wow ! Such an eye opening course on how we view menopause in our society and how unrelated most of the symptoms we usually associate with menopause actually are and how we can treat them naturally by adressing the underlying imbalances! A real menopause paradigm shift!
So informative and empowering. I cannot recommend this class enough
Learned some really vital information for working through stagnation utilizing steam, one of the most common imbalances!
This class is so so important. It's necessary and fundamental to ethically practice steaming and honoring truths that are commonly overlooked in the healing community.
Loved this course! Provides great info and guidelines to prepare and care for our girls first period and coming of age! Every girl this information and care!
I learned vital information about steaming for Uterine Fatigue. Thank you!
Absolutely recommend! Not only is this course short and simple, it is also filled with so much knowledge about our womb cycles that the system totally failed to teach us, women about. Love it 100%
Loved this fun course about the amazong and mysterious connection between the moon and women's cycles!
Absolutely loved this course. I cannot wait to continue my education with streamy chick!

Level 1 must be completed prior to Level 2. Level 2 must be completed prior to Level 3. You can sign up initially for any level you like and it will automatically include the unfinished earlier levels.
I can’t speak for the knowledge you have but my classes consist of unique information. They are based on my research with hundreds of clients observing their menstrual cycle patterns before and after steaming.
In my PF1 Steam Facilitation Basics, for example, I talk about medical contraindications for steaming (uterine ablation, tubal ligation and others) as well as different steam user sensitivities – uterine bleeding sensitivity, medical sensitivity, excess heat sensitivity which require differing herbs and setups. All of my herb formulas and steam plans are based on this foundation and without them the level 2 and 3 courses wouldn’t make sense.
No. If you are logged in the system will automatically deduct any courses that you’ve already paid for from your total.
Except for a few stand-alone classes (which I call the “hot singles”) all the courses must be completed in sequential order. Each course builds upon the information from the class that comes before it so they don’t make sense if you skip ahead.
Yes! You can take the labor prep course at anytime. It is a stand-alone class that doesn’t require previous courses to take it. It is recommended for all birthworkers and pregnant women/people.
If someone who is going to steam for labor needs more guidance on how to set up a steam session at home and how to create herb formulas the following courses are recommended together:
PF1: Steam Facilitation Basics
PF2: Easy-to-Make Vaginal Steam Herb Formulas
PH08: Vaginal Steaming for Labor Prep
This class is not a stand alone class. In order to be fully trained to work with postpartum clients and all the possible situations that arise, a practitioner will have to know how to read someone’s bleeding (which is taught in PH01 Menstrual Cycle Analysis). They will have to know how to stop heavy bleeding (which is taught in PH04 Steaming for Uterine Fatigue). They will have to know how to work with infections (which is taught in PH05 Steaming for Infections). They will have to know what to do if someone is not getting a full uterine cleanse or has retained pregnancy matter (which is taught in PH06 Steaming for Stagnation). Additionally, the practitioner will have to know when someone is contraindicated, when they are a steam-sensitive user, how to choose the right herb formula for someone, how to make that formula and what to do when someone experiences certain side-effects after steaming (which is all taught in Level 1).
If someone jumps right into the class on postpartum without the previous courses they will not be fully trained or fully able to help their clients in all the situations that might arise.
In general we need more birthworkers that are fully trained steam therapists. If this is a modality that you would like to use on this level we need you. If this is more study than you are interested in, please check out the Steam Practitioner Directory for a postpartum steam practitioner that you can partner with who has undergone this level of study. Also, feel free to message me for a referral and I’d be happy to pair you up with someone.
This class is not a stand alone class. In order to be fully trained to work with fertility clients and all the possible situations that arise, a practitioner will have to know what menstrual cycle imbalances the client may have that might be contributing to fertility issues (which is taught in PH01 Menstrual Cycle Analysis).
After that initial point, the practitioner will have to know how to resolve whatever menstrual cycle imbalances may be presenting themselves. The courses that teach how to resolve the issues that might relate to fertility concerns are PH04, PH05, PH06, PH07, PH11, PH12, PH13, PH14 . You will need info from one or several of these classes in order to work with the fertility client.
Jumping straight to the fertility course a practitioner will be missing fundamental knowledge that the practitioner or their client will be depending on for fertility. The outcome may be that the client ends up pregnant but that they don’t carry to full term.
In order to take the fertility course please complete Level 1, and Level 2 and Level 3 courses in sequential order until reaching the fertility module. If this is more study than you are interested in, please check out the Steam Practitioner Directory for a fertility steam practitioner that you can partner with who has undergone this level of study. Also, feel free to message me for a referral and I’d be happy to pair you up with someone.
Please read the response above regarding the postpartum and fertility courses. The same applies to fibroids. Helping with fibroids is complex and requires foundational courses to be able to deal with a lot of different situations.
We need more practitioners who are willing to undergo this study. If this is not you please consider partnering with a Peristeam Hydrotherapist (Steam Practitioner Directory) who has already delved into this level of learning. If this is you I’ll see you in class! Start at Level 1 Certification and then move onto Level 2 and work your way up.
Yes! There are actually thousands of reviews on the Steamy Chick Institute. Please read through them as they help give a very good sense of the program and course content. Here are a few to get you started.
“I loved this course. I learned so much to add to my practice and help my lovely clients. I’m also happy I can bring this knowledge to my family, friends and community. I learned so much about proper uterine health and what a healthy period looks like. I think, like most areas of women’s health, I thought it was normal to suffer. I’m happy to find out things don’t have to be that way and to implement a steaming regimen into my life to help give me a healthier womb.”
“I now feel assured to administer vaginal steams to women thanks to the Vaginal Steam Facilitator course. I very much appreciated the information on contraindications, sensitivities and protocols. I believe anyone who is steaming themselves or offering to another should learn from Steamy Chick’s extensive experience.”
“This course is amazing knowledge to have as a women’s health practitioner. I can´t wait to add this into my practice. As a herbalist and functional medicine nutritionist working with women I’d say this is the perfect compliment to the rest of your toolbox. Thank you Steamy Chick for this class, knowledge and opportunity to be able to help even more women with a natural approach.”
