This course is absolutely essential to anyone planning to offer steaming within their communities. The conversations around the history of steaming, how other cultures use steaming, and how we can respectfully integrate steaming are SO important.
I also thought it was a great introduction to some really important topics surrounding how harm is perpetuated by people in privileged positions fail to be introspective and thoughtful.

Elisabete –
I loved this course, it really helped me understand all the ways to be supportive of folk practitioners, how to avoid & understand what is and isn’t cultural appropriation. It helped me better understand how colonialism, slavery, the role of development, white supremacy and prejudice against women has caused so many cultural practices to be lost or endangered.
There was so much practical information on how to build an inclusive framework that benefits the folk practitioners who have carried and protected so many traditional practices, often at their own expense & in environments that were actively discouraging or punishing those who used them. As such, it shows the importance of those of us who are experiential practitioners (those who are learning by experience) to center and include these folk or traditional practitioners who have been discriminated against and dismissed.
