Certified Steamcare Provider
Level 1
Level 1 certification is for someone who plans to offer steamcare for clients in a spa or office location, mobile sessions, pamper parties or steam circles. It is also great for individuals who want to learn how to steam at home. This first level certification is designed to train a steamcare provider to screen individual users for steam contraindications and sensitivities in order to select the correct herbs, steam setup and steam session duration for each client’s needs.
Level 2 certification (also known as the Peristeam Facilitator certification) is great for steamcare providers who – more than just offering a steamcare session – want to be able to understand and educate clients about steaming on a comprehensive level. Instead of just selecting pre-made herb formulas, practitioners learn how to make their own formulas. Instead of just offering a steam session, practitioners will learn about steam science, history and culture; historical and contemporary uses; as well as research on how and why steaming is beneficial. Further, practitioners will meet guest interviewee OB/GYN doctors who support steaming, read medical studies on steaming and learn to debunk misinformation on the practice.
*Includes all unpaid courses from level 1. If you have paid for previous modules please login to deduct them from the total price.
Level 3
Level 3 certification is the most extensive, highest-level training available on the topic of perineal steaming. Known as Peristeam Hydrotherapists, level 3 providers learn how to use steam as a natural form of obstetrics and gynecology offering customized steam therapy plans for numerous health issues. Using evidence-based research, the specific areas of steam therapy training include: abnormal uterine bleeding, infections, endometriosis, period pain, absent periods, long cycles, short cycles, irregular cycles, surgery recovery, surgery alternatives, fibroids, cysts (including PCOS), polyps, adhesions, menarche, labial adhesion, labor preparation, overdue labor, postpartum recovery, pelvic organ prolapse, fistulas, hemorrhoids, rectum issues, fertility, pregnancy loss, pain during sex, rape response, sexual trauma recovery, menopause and postmenopause. Level 3 steamcare providers are highly trained specialists who work with clients alone or in cooperation with their primary healthcare providers to offer holistic options for advanced health issues.
I just wish this was information that ALL women knew. I wish that teens could
Learn about their bodies in school since it seems that it’s taboo for mothers to share with their children. I appreciate the information that Kelli provided in addition to sharing about other women who are attempting to make changes in their communities. I have 2 sons, and they know about steaming, they know about my monthly period and the care I take with myself, they know about pregnancy and labor, only because have taught them. Yes, it’s so important for women to know about their bodies, but I feel that it’s important for boys/men to know as well since they were not only birthed through a woman’s body but they often love with women.

This was a very thorough review on vital information that girls should learn when their period starts so that they can cultivate supportive womb cleanse habits from the start of their period. Fortunately, it’s never too late to start caring for your womb space. While I have learned this information for myself over decades of teaching Prenatal Yoga and my own pregnancies and postpartum phases, it was nice to hear it all in one place shared in such a Gentle and concise manner from Kelli. Thank you for the work that you do in the world

PF5: Vaginal Steam History and Culture
As a displaced Black American Experiential Practitioner, it made me reflect on and examine all of the things/ways, now and in the past, where I could possibly be culturally appropriating. This course was very much so needed for life in general (I wish they taught this in schools). Even if I weren’t interested in becoming an Experiential Steam Practitioner, I am so happy that this course was available! Is this a hot single? Because I would love to recommend this course to others! I will check! All in all! I am glad that despite pressures, trauma, bullying, things that have made me question my identity, etc., I have resolved to accept, to love and to just be myself; to be kind, loving, to stand on moral and ethical business, and to be generous, freely sharing the knowledge I have been given and that I have searched for, as I believe these attributes have shielded me from or corrected me from making mistakes or decisions to culturally appropriate, amongst other things.

Incredible certification course. I looked everywhere online for a course that would be the most inclusive as far as information and would make me feel confident to offer streaming to clients. This course seemed like it was everything I was looking for as a professional practitioner. The information in this course went well beyond my expectations and was worth every penny. I would recommend it to anyone interested in providing safe steam sessions to clients and is looking to use steaming to help clients with more complex health imbalances.

PF4: Understanding Steam
The deeper in the course I go, the more I learn about myself and that’s the real gem! I would have preferred PF4 be in the place of PF1. I just think PF4 provides more foundational knowledge to understanding the womb , in general, and how it cleanses. And PF1 goes straight into categorizing steam user types without having laid down general womb care. Just a preference. It doesn’t take away from my appreciation nor growth at all.

Participants usually include professionals who want to add steam to their services as well as people who want to learn how to use steaming for themselves and their family. Midwives, Acupuncturists, Doulas, Naturopathic and Integrative Doctors, Nurses, Massage Therapists, Alternative Medicine Providers and women’s wellness advocates are all common program participants.
YES! All of the videos are pre-recorded so you can go at your own pace. You can wait until you have time off to binge watch. Also, even though the videos are pre-recorded, the comments are in real time. Anytime you have a question you can post it in the comments and I’ll reply.
You can purchase two or three levels together if you would like. There is a no return policy so it’s a good idea to get a sense for the program first by starting off with Level 1. That said, some people like to sign up for more than one level at a time because they want to take advantage of a sale price or they know for sure that they want the higher level certifications. Click “buy now” on the level you want to purchase and it will include the previous levels as well if you have not already purchased those. (If you are an existing student that has already purchased some courses, make sure to sign in so your current courses are deducted from the total.)
Level 1 must be completed prior to Level 2. Level 2 must be completed prior to Level 3.
I can’t speak for the knowledge you have but my classes consist of different information. They are based on my research with hundreds of clients observing their menstrual cycle patterns before and after steaming.
In my PF1 Steam Facilitation Basics, for example, I talk about medical contraindications for steaming (uterine ablation, tubal ligation and others) as well as different steam user sensitivities – uterine bleeding sensitivity, medical sensitivity, excess heat sensitivity which require differing herbs and setups. All of my herb formulas and steam plans are based on this foundation and without them the level 2 and 3 courses wouldn’t make sense.
Except for a few stand-alone classes (which I call the “hot singles”) all the courses must be completed in sequential order. Each course builds upon the information from the class that comes before it so they don’t make sense if you skip ahead.
Yes! You can take the labor prep course at anytime. It is a stand-alone class that doesn’t require previous courses to take it. It is recommended for all birthworkers and pregnant women/people.
If someone who is going to steam for labor needs more guidance on how to set up a steam session at home and how to create herb formulas the following courses are recommended together:
This class is not a stand alone class. In order to be fully trained to work with postpartum clients and all the possible situations that arise, a practitioner will have to know how to read someone’s bleeding (which is taught in PH01 Menstrual Cycle Analysis). They will have to know how to stop heavy bleeding (which is taught in PH04 Steaming for Uterine Fatigue). They will have to know how to work with infections (which is taught in PH05 Steaming for Infections). They will have to know what to do if someone is not getting a full uterine cleanse or has retained pregnancy matter (which is taught in PH06 Steaming for Stagnation). Additionally, the practitioner will have to know when someone is contraindicated, when they are a steam-sensitive user, how to choose the right herb formula for someone, how to make that formula and what to do when someone experiences certain side-effects after steaming (which is all taught in Level 1).
If someone jumps right into the class on postpartum without the previous courses they will not be fully trained or fully able to help their clients in all the situations that might arise.
In general we need more birthworkers that are fully trained steam therapists. If this is a modality that you would like to use on this level we need you. If this is more study than you are interested in, please check out the Steam Practitioner Directory for a postpartum steam practitioner that you can partner with who has undergone this level of study. Also, feel free to message me for a referral and I’d be happy to pair you up with someone.
This class is not a stand alone class. In order to be fully trained to work with fertility clients and all the possible situations that arise, a practitioner will have to know what menstrual cycle imbalances the client may have that might be contributing to fertility issues (which is taught in PH01 Menstrual Cycle Analysis).
After that initial point, the practitioner will have to know how to resolve whatever menstrual cycle imbalances may be presenting themselves. The courses that teach how to resolve the issues that might relate to fertility concerns are PH04, PH05, PH06, PH07, PH11, PH12, PH13, PH14 . You will need info from one or several of these classes in order to work with the fertility client.
Jumping straight to the fertility course a practitioner will be missing fundamental knowledge that the practitioner or their client will be depending on for fertility. The outcome may be that the client ends up pregnant but that they don’t carry to full term.
In order to take the fertility course please complete Level 1, and Level 2 and Level 3 courses in sequential order until reaching the fertility module. If this is more study than you are interested in, please check out the Steam Practitioner Directory for a fertility steam practitioner that you can partner with who has undergone this level of study. Also, feel free to message me for a referral and I’d be happy to pair you up with someone.
Please read the response above regarding the postpartum and fertility courses. The same applies to fibroids. Helping with fibroids is complex and requires foundational courses to be able to deal with a lot of different situations.
We need more practitioners who are willing to undergo this study. If this is not you please consider partnering with a Peristeam Hydrotherapist (Steam Practitioner Directory) who has already delved into this level of learning. If this is you I’ll see you in class! Start at Level 1 Certification and then move onto Level 2 and work your way up.
Yes! There are actually thousands of reviews on the Steamy Chick Institute. Please read through them as they help give a very good sense of the program and course content. Here are a few to get you started.
“I loved this course. I learned so much to add to my practice and help my lovely clients. I’m also happy I can bring this knowledge to my family, friends and community. I learned so much about proper uterine health and what a healthy period looks like. I think, like most areas of women’s health, I thought it was normal to suffer. I’m happy to find out things don’t have to be that way and to implement a steaming regimen into my life to help give me a healthier womb.”
“I now feel assured to administer vaginal steams to women thanks to the Vaginal Steam Facilitator course. I very much appreciated the information on contraindications, sensitivities and protocols. I believe anyone who is steaming themselves or offering to another should learn from Steamy Chick’s extensive experience.”
“This course is amazing knowledge to have as a women’s health practitioner. I can´t wait to add this into my practice. As a herbalist and functional medicine nutritionist working with women I’d say this is the perfect compliment to the rest of your toolbox. Thank you Steamy Chick for this class, knowledge and opportunity to be able to help even more women with a natural approach.”
