Since the age of 9 I have had excruciating, disruptive menstrual periods. None of the ‘solutions’ offered to me by medical doctors (which included learning to deal with it, taking stronger pain medication, and going on birth control) fixed the problem. My periods lasted 8-10 days, came every 21 days, and were characterized by muscle cramps from my ribs to the soles of my feet, migraines, nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, brain fog/confusion, extreme fatigue, chills and sweats, and often the inability to stand and walk.
Improvements Since Steaming:
I was living in Seoul, South Korea when I began steaming regularly at the spa and my periods improved to the point that I could go to work without vomiting throughout the day. I now steam at home with my own set up and my periods occur every 27-28 days, last 4 days, and I no longer need pain medication, I can stand and walk easily, I have no nausea or vomiting, no migraines, drastically reduced brain fog/confusion, and I’m still tired but not extremely fatigued. I also understand my body and its functions and needs so much better and can therefore take much smarter preventive care of myself.
