Steam Story:
In 2018 I was diagnosed with a 5cm left ovarian cyst and advised to have it removed with laparoscopic surgery. Knowing what I do about the body from the empowering teachings of Dr. Christiane Northrup and Dr. Brenda Davies I was determined to find out another way of healing that didn’t involve surgery and would bring me closer towards understanding the gift that this cyst had come to teach me. Through a post on Katya Nova’s Instagram page I discovered the revolutionary practice of vaginal steaming.
After a bit of research I signed up for the Vaginal Steam Facilitator training through Steamy Chick thinking I would use the knowledge simply to support my own menstrual and womb health. Little did I know at the time that it would lead to a whole new venture for me that took me one step closer to connecting with my calling! I have since begun training as a Peristeam Hydrotherapist.
Since adopting a steam practice I am amazed and delighted to see how it supports my natural uterine cleanse, has cleaned out the brown blood at the start of my period, drastically reduced my menstrual clots, reduced the amount of blood loss each month and given me a deeper understanding of my cyclical nature. Healing the cyst is still a work in progress and such a rich and fruitful journey to deeper empowerment.
I have two daughters and my passion for learning is so that I can offer them the knowledge I wish I had been given while growing up in Zambia. I’m excited to share what I know with every woman willing to listen. My hope is that they too can discover a new way of understanding and working with their bodies. I am a yoga teacher passionate about teaching how to move energy and qi throughout the body. Steaming is simply another way of increasing this circulation and getting things moving through the body.
