Steam Story:
In 2018 I was searching for something. I was mothering two young boys, working full-time in the corporate world, and felt I was being pulled in so many directions that I was not able to bring my best self. It was pretty quickly after that I found Steamy Chick’s instagram account and found the information about steaming so intriguing, valuable, and validating.
As I started to do the personal work with my mentor and various health practitioners, I began to unravel that my true hearts desire was to get back into bodywork (I’ve been an LMT for 13 years) and offer yoni steaming as an integral part of that.
My 35th birthday arrived in September (yay Virgo babes) and with that I felt a transition returning back to my center. At this point I had been receiving Holistic Pelvic Care sessions pretty regularly and had begun steaming, though not very regularly. Without fail, every time I would sit on the steam box, I’d start crying. Tears would just pour down my face I felt so grateful to have the space to return to myself and bring my awareness back into my center.
In fall of 2018 I became certified in Holistic Pelvic Care from Tami Kent. In November 2018, I finished my Vaginal Steam Facilitator course from Steamy Chick and In December 2018 I enrolled in the Peristeam Hydrotherapist program.
In October of 2019, I opened The Yoni Yurt a sweet little studio in my home and have began offering my services to the community. It has attracted the sweetest women thus far and I’m excited to grow it.
I feel so lucky and grateful to be a part of this community and to hold space for other women to return to their bodies.
With love,
Erika
