STEEP PREPARATION
1) Add herbs to herb pot*. Use specifications on herb packet or from steam practitioner to determine how much herbs.
2) Add boiling water and cover. Let steep five minutes.
3) Check temperature until desired heat level. (The temperature should be nice like a hot shower)
4) Remove bottoms and sit or kneel over steam.
*Recommended herb pots would be stainless steel, glass or enameled cast iron. It’s best to have a dedicated herb pot for steaming.
**Usually 6 cups (1.5 quarts or liters) works well. Less or more water is okay based on pot size or preference.
BOIL PREPARATION
1) Boil water** in herb pot* and then remove from heat.
2) Add herbs and then cover.
Alternatively, if the herbs have a lot of seeds and barks you can leave the heat on low for 5 minutes and then remove from heat.
3) Let sit for 10 minutes.
4) Check temperature until desired heat level. (The temperature should be nice like a hot shower)
5) Remove bottoms and sit or kneel over steam.
