Have you met Kris yet?
If you didn’t know, she’s our resident Acupuncturist here at Steamy Chick! Keli and Kris have been friends for many years. They both have different stories of how they met, but either way, we’re grateful for this duo.
Kris has a long family lineage of using pelvic steaming for reproductive wellness. Her mother is from South Korea where the practice is pretty prevalent. Kris offers consultations and courses for Steamy Chick clients on women’s health topics such as Embodied Menstruation, Breast Rejuvenation, Menstrual Cycle Awareness, Sacred Vaginal Ecology and a new and perimenopause.
We interviewed Kris to learn more.
What is your profession?
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist & Certified Herbalist, Guide into Nourishing Life (Yang Sheng), Aroma AcuTouch Practitioner, Healer Within Practice Leader and a Faculty Member of Wise Woman Medicine Path.
Where did you go to school or get your professional training?
I received my training at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Snow Lotus Aromatherapy & The Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi.
How long have you been practicing?
Personally, since my teens and professionally since 2012.
How did you learn about vaginal steaming?
I learned about vaginal steaming from my mother, aunt and grandmother.
Do you use vaginal steaming yourself?
I sure do. I usually do a post period steam for 1 to 2 nights, right before bed.
What has your personal experience with steaming been?
It helps me to reconnect to my seat/seed of power. I have a habit that I probably share with most people and that is we function a lot from our head space. Steaming helps me to get grounded and integrate all parts of myself to move in an embodied way.
Why did you decide to offer this service to women?
I’m following Keli’s lead on this one. I never thought I’d really share it with anyone except with my family. She’s really brought this healing modality to so many. It’s really beautiful!
How long have you been offering vaginal steam services?
I have been offering vaginal steam services since 2015.
Where do you offer your services?
I usually teach my clients about it so they can do it in their homes or visit a practitioner nearby that is Steamy Chick certified. I send them to Keli’s website for more info and sometimes, if needed, I’ll make a custom herb formulation.
What benefits do vaginal steam services have for your clients?
Successful pregnancy! Steaming has helped many with fertility issues, blocked tubes, pelvic pain, fibroids, cysts, infections, and so much more!
How do clients respond when you offer them vaginal steam services?
Most of my patients know the work I do in the world, so they’re not really surprised. Most of them are pretty excited and then recruit family members to make them a steam sauna or make it themselves. I love when my inbox has random pics of DIY saunas.
Any favorite quotes from clients either during or after steaming?
“It’s like coming home”
“Am I supposed to feel aroused?”
“I feel like it’s working…”
