Holistic Healer Temar Marte has recently opened up a new business on Oahu that is turning heads. Punani Steam, a vaginal steam studio, in Palolo Valley is one of the many new vaginal steam businesses that have been popping up around the nation. We interview Témar to learn more about how and why she is taking this venture.
What is your profession?
I am a Vaginal Steam Facilitator.
Where did you go to school or get your professional training?
The Integrative Medicine Center, Alchemy Wellness Spa, DiviniTree Yoga, Yoni Steam Honolulu and the Peristeam Hydrotherapy Institute by Steamy Chick.
How long have you been practicing?
I became interested in alternative healing ten years ago before moving to Hawaii. Holistic healing ignited my passion for better ways to deal with health issues.
How did you learn about vaginal steaming?
I got certified to offer vaginal steam services at a spa retreat on Oahu. Since then I have integrated it into my own care and now started my own business.
Do you use vaginal steaming yourself?
I steam once to twice a week as needed. It varies depending on the vaginal health issues I am dealing with. I’ve always been interested in herbs and the more I learn about how they can be used in steaming is my ideal way of caring for myself.
What has your personal experience with steaming been?
Steaming helps me feel ~ Refreshed , Relaxed , Rejuvenated and Connected to my Divine Feminine! Personally I find myself at the very relaxed natural state when steaming and have a consistent cycle with next to no or less PMS and the best nights of sleep EVER.
Why did you decide to offer this service to women?
After learning all of the positive benefits of vaginal steaming and seeing the effects for myself there isn’t really any comparison with what is available through gynecology. Further, learning that the history of modern gynecology is male-dominated and unethical having used slave women as test subjects is a real turn off and made me want to offer women a better option for care. This is the new face of women’s health.

I offer my services in Oahu, Hawaii.
What benefits do vaginal steam services have for your clients?
Relief from PMS, Fibroids, Polycystic Ovaries, Postpartum, Vaginal Surgery, Dryness, Menopause, Irregular Cycles, Infections, Odor and emotional imbalance.

“Nothing can phase me now!” [As client walks out with a euphoric high.]
“I’ll just stay here!” [As client melts into her steam chair with a smile.]
I’m coming back tomorrow.” [As client walks out the door with a skip in her step.]
Do any vaginal steam success stories stand out where the client had a significant health breakthrough?
First time client decided to try steaming before having vaginal surgery and after her session decided to continue steaming twice a week and postponed surgery until further notice.
There is a nurse client that comes in and told her friend about steaming. After the friend had issues with getting pregnant she tried steaming and was pregnant soon after!
