Vienna Farlow of San Diego, has created a name for herself in the health and wellness world. Meet The Cuntsultant, “Your Vagina’s Consultant”. She began her career as a holistic reproductive health practitioner but in the last year, she’s focused on fertility awareness. We interviewed Vienna to learn more.
What is your profession?
I am a Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner and founder of The Cuntsultant, “Your Vagina’s Consultant”.
Where did you go to school or get your professional training?
I received my formal training from Justisse International, which specializes in fertility awareness education, natural birth control & holistic reproductive health. I also received my Vaginal Steam Certification from The Steam Healing Institute.
How long have you been practicing?
I’ve been Cuntsulting for a couple years now but I have been formally seeing fertility awareness clients for a year now. I’m still completing my education so I’m practicing under supervision of my instructor.
How did you learn about vaginal steaming?
I attended a workshop Keli gave in San Diego. I was aware of vaginal steaming but was really excited to learn more. Keli totally blew my mind!
Do you use vaginal steaming yourself?
Yes! I usually steam at the end of my cycle.
What has your personal experience with steaming been?
I found that it drastically reduced my period cramps. Initially I began steaming while using the Paraguard IUD and my cramps moved from day one of my period to day three. Once I got the Paraguard removed, my period became essentially pain free. I had always experienced cramps on the first day of my period, even prior to the IUD. I also love it as a menstrual ritual. It helps ground me into my body and really improves my sleep.
Why did you decide to offer this service to women? Was there an “aha” moment?
I love sharing easy, non-invasive but powerful practices with my clients. I think vaginal steaming is a great first response to address a variety of menstrual issues. It’s important for me to empower my clients to be their own best healer and vaginal steaming is one way they can do this. In addition to using steaming to heal a presenting issue, I also love it as a way to help my clients create a menstrual ritual for themselves. Honoring menstruation is an underrated way to improve your cycle and having a physical practice can make an abstract concept more concrete.
How long have you been offering vaginal steam services?
I’ve been offering vaginal steam services for about two years.
Where do you offer your services?
I currently offer services remotely, so everywhere! I create individualized steam plans for clients that they can do from home or wherever they feel comfortable. We meet for an initial consultation and then a follow up a cycle or two later to see how it’s going and if they’ve seen any changes. It’s so important for us to have ways to care for ourselves in our homes and steaming is a perfect example.
What benefits do vaginal steam services have for your clients?
My clients have seen a reduction in menstrual cramps and increased relaxation. They also often report feeling a new connection with their bodies.
How do clients respond when you offer them vaginal steam services? Any funny stories?
Living in San Diego, a lot of my clients have heard of vaginal steaming and seek me out specifically for that service – people are really into it! What’s really funny, though, is introducing it to my mom’s friends. When I told my mom about it she was both horrified and intrigued but tried it and totally loved it! She now calls it “steaming the goddess” and likes bringing it up at parties for the reactions.
Any favorite quotes from clients either during or after steaming?
“I’m actually excited to get my period next month!”
